Khachatryan Sisters Recognized as Victims

The Khachatryan sisters, accused of murdering their father, Mikhail Khachatryan, have been recognized as victims by the court. This was reported by TASS.

The sisters' lawyer, Alexey Parshin, stated that they, the defense, hope that obtaining the status of victims in the case of sexual abuse and violence by their father will help the Khachatryan sisters avoid criminal prosecution for murder.

“This case is important for us because the girls now have official victim status with associated rights. We hope that the criminal prosecution will be halted. A complete investigation still needs to be conducted in the Khachatryan case, during which evidence of Mikhail Khachatryan's commission of the crime will be collected. At the conclusion of the investigation, the case will be sent to court,” he said.
