It Seems Like a Childish Expression: Hakobyan on the Prime Minister's Statement Regarding Su-30 Fighters
The former head of the Armed Forces General Staff, Movses Hakobyan, characterized the Prime Minister's statement about the previous government potentially acquiring Su-30 fighter jets while the current administration focused on missiles as "childish."
"Since the Prime Minister addressed the process of purchasing Su-30s in the Aragatsotn region, without directly mentioning my name, I want to comment on this. It seems like a childish expression. It suggests that one member of the family should buy a bicycle for the child, while the other components are left to the other members. Or you buy a car, but leave the gasoline for the future, for someone else to buy. It's absurd," Hakobyan stated during a meeting with reporters.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed the information shared by the former head of the Ministry of Defense's military oversight service, General-Major Movses Hakobyan, that the Su-30 SM fighters were acquired without ammunition.
"They ask us why we bought the planes. Yes, we bought the planes, and yes, we did not manage to acquire the missiles before the war. Well, you could have bought the planes, so we could have acquired the missiles too. Why has the state not had combat aviation for 26 years?" Pashinyan had stated during a meeting with the residents of the Ohanyan community in the Aragatsotn region.
