Georgi Gorgisyans Invited for Questioning by National Security Service
Georgi Gorgisyans, a member of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, has been invited to the National Security Service (NSS) as a witness. Gorgisyans made this announcement during a conversation with reporters at the NA, providing details from a post he made the previous day on his Facebook page.
"From what I understood from the letter received from the NSS, I have been invited as a witness in the context of the investigation regarding the citizens' entry into the NA on November 9-10. I haven't gone yet; I will visit in the near future," said Gorgisyans, adding that he doesn't know what questions they want to ask him.
The lawmaker is in contact with the investigator and will arrange a visit after the scheduled four-day session.
On the night of November 9-10, 2020, when Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a statement with the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan to cease hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at 01:00, citizens gathered near the National Assembly building. Several dozen people entered the parliament building and reached the session hall. Additionally, several dozen citizens also entered the Government building. A significant amount of property and equipment was damaged. The President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, was also subjected to an attack.
