Frostbite Recorded: Positive Progress in One of the Missing Soldiers from Jermuk

In a positive development regarding the health of one of the soldiers missing in snowy conditions, it has been reported that there is progress. This information was provided to News.am by Vahan Gevorgyan, the head of the military hospital.

The soldier in question is 37-year-old Karen Shahnazaryan, whose condition is classified as moderate. “His feet have frostbite, first and second degree, but there is no question of amputation,” Gevorgyan stated.

According to him, the soldier is currently in the intensive care unit, but he will be transferred to a ward tomorrow. Karen Shahnazaryan is conscious.

It is worth noting that 29-year-old Agasi Hovhannisyan, one of the soldiers who went missing while crossing from one combat post to another in Jermuk amid snowdrift conditions, has died.

Recall that on March 21, contact was lost with contracted servicemen Karen Shahnazaryan and Agasi Hovhannisyan while they were moving from one combat post of the RA Armed Forces N unit to another under severe snowstorm conditions. On the same day, large-scale search and rescue operations were initiated, which were hampered by the relentless storm. On March 22, in the late afternoon, it was possible to locate the whereabouts of the soldiers. Unfortunately, the life of one of them could not be saved.
