Defamation Penalties Reduced: 3000-fold for Insult and 6000-fold for Slander in Simonian's Bill

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonian, while presenting the draft law regarding amendments to the "Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia," noted that changes have been made since the first reading.

According to Simonian, thresholds have been lowered following discussions with colleagues. “I have agreed, and the law is presented for second reading with lower figures: 3000-fold for insult and 6000-fold for slander,” he stated.
