Coronavirus Detected in Nurse After Vaccination in Georgia

A nurse in Georgia has tested positive for coronavirus after receiving a vaccination against the virus. This was reported by Aliq.ge.

The nurse, who works at a correctional facility in one of the regions, has been transferred to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tbilisi. The hospital reports that the patient’s health condition is mild, and she is experiencing weakness typical of patients infected with the coronavirus. It is noted that the woman was vaccinated with the Astrazeneca vaccine.

“The patient was transferred from the region to Tbilisi on Sunday. She was vaccinated. Today, her health condition is satisfactory, mild, and her test results are normal. The lungs are almost unaffected. After hospitalization, the patient had a fever; however, this has resolved in the last two days,” hospital officials stated.

The situation has also been addressed by the Georgian Penitentiary Service, which noted that the nurse had tested negative for the coronavirus antigen on March 18, just prior to her vaccination. Only after receiving a negative result was she vaccinated. Moreover, according to her work obligations, she was taking tests weekly, with her last PCR test conducted on March 15. The coronavirus test returned positive on March 20, when the virus was confirmed in her husband.
