We Have No Time, We Must Free Our Boys from Turkish Captivity: Naira Zohrabyan

Since we de facto do not have power, I believe that all public organizations and individuals in Armenia and abroad who are engaged in this issue should unite our efforts, collaborate with each other, exchange the information we have, and determine what further steps can be taken to free our boys from Turkish captivity. This was stated by NA member Naira Zohrabyan on her Facebook page.

“A representative of the Soros-backed junta jumped at the face of an opposition MP when the latter simply expressed the opinion that Aliyev would also present Armenian prisoners of war at the parade in Baku. The representative of the junta was offended by such an ‘unjust’ remark regarding ‘democratic’ Azerbaijan. Today, even by rough estimates, we have more than 250 prisoners of war, and every day of their captivity in Baku is a hell,” she noted.

Human Rights Watch has spoken with four soldiers who returned to Armenia, who shared horrifying details about the maltreatment they and their fellow captives faced. They all described enduring long-term and multiple beatings. One of them mentioned being stabbed with a sharp metallic rod, another said he was subjected to electric shocks, while a third recounted that he was continuously burned with a lighter. The captives were kept in humiliating conditions, with very little water provided in the initial days and almost no food at all.

Since we de facto do not have power, I believe that all public organizations and individuals in Armenia and abroad who are engaged in this issue should unite our efforts, collaborate with each other, exchange the information we have, and determine what further steps can be taken to free our boys from Turkish captivity.
