Azerbaijani Oil Will Be Replaced by Armenian Copper, Says Nikol Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a meeting with citizens in Nerqin Bazmaberd, Aragatsotn Province, that much has been said about Azerbaijan's oil and the significant advantage its oil resources provided to the country. He noted, "I want to draw your attention to a fact that specialists have already started discussing: the oil of the 21st century is becoming copper. Why was oil the key resource of the 20th century? Because all these vehicles and airplanes operate with internal combustion engines that use petroleum products. Now, a process has begun around the world where electric motor vehicles are becoming mainstream, and internal combustion vehicles, even airplanes, are being pushed out of the market."

Pashinyan also highlighted that the most important component of electric motors is copper. "Armenia has enormous copper reserves. If we manage to open Armenia's railway routes, we will not export copper in the form of ore, but we will be able to establish copper smelting industries, thereby ensuring the subsequent processing chain that follows," he added.
