Goris Mayor: 'Yes, we have facts that the villages are ours, but we lack people to negotiate with those facts'

"At this moment, the demarcation is partially completed, but to say it is 100% finalized would not be accurate. There are ongoing issues, and some stage of negotiations with the enemy is taking place again—whether this part is theirs or ours,” stated the mayor of Goris, adding that the government has generally not clarified what is happening.

Arushanyan also addressed reports that the enemy has advanced a few meters in Khnzoresk. "Yes, there was such a fact. Again, GPS showed that this is their area, and they have advanced," he noted.

"There are numerous facts that the same Shurnukh, Vorotan, and Nerkhin Khnzoresk were ours; we have raised this issue many times, but we do not have people to take these documents and negotiate. The enemy has taken advantage of this. If we have dedicated people who care about our country, we will succeed by raising this issue on various platforms," he added.

He commented that Khnzoresk has a border village status, but many other villages do not. "Khnzoresk has the status of a border village, while, for example, Verishen and Akno villages do not have this status, which I consider wrong because they are actually border villages," the Goris mayor stated.

It is a myth that the government is taking action in Shurnukh, said Arushanyan, referring to reports regarding construction activities.
