Video: Tourists Climb Crater and Grill Sausages During Volcanic Eruption

The eruption of the Klyuchevskoy volcano in Kamchatka has attracted the attention of extreme sports-loving tourists. To grill and taste sausages over the lava, these individuals climbed to the edge of the crater, a highly dangerous undertaking.

This information was reported to RIA Novosti by Olga Girina, head of the volcanic eruption response group at the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She noted that the eruption of Klyuchevskoy volcano occurred on February 18. The eruption zone is located on the northwestern slope of the mountain, at an elevation of 2,850 meters above sea level.

Although the eruption took place nearly a month ago, it is only in recent days that local residents have started posting photos and videos related to the event on social media. From these posts, it became evident how a group of individuals climbed into the crater and grilled sausages over the flowing lava.
