SSS Employees Visit Judge Mher Petrosyan, Attempt to Access His Office

According to information from "Factinfo," employees of the National Security Service (SSS) visited Judge Mher Petrosyan of the Administrative Court of Armenia yesterday. The judge is currently handling the lawsuit filed by Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan, and the SSS employees sought to access the judge's office.

Moreover, the visit occurred before the court addressed the request from Gasparyan's lawyers for measures to secure the lawsuit.

Judge Petrosyan immediately informed the Judicial Council about the SSS employees' visit. "Factinfo" managed to contact Judge Mher Petrosyan, who confirmed our information, stating that the SSS employees indeed visited the court and requested to meet with him, which he refused.

"Yes, such a visit took place, but I did not meet with them at all. I declined the meeting, suggesting that if necessary, it be organized only through the Judicial Council, and I immediately informed the Judicial Council about it," the judge noted. He added that the SSS employees' visit occurred after he had already made the decision to accept the lawsuit into the case and that information had been posted in the court system.

At the same time, he confirmed our information that the visit took place before the decision concerning measures to secure the lawsuit.

Regarding the response from the Judicial Council, Judge Petrosyan expressed gratitude, stating that before this, when such news circulated in the morning, he received calls inquiring about it. Afterward, he was informed that all members of the Judicial Council were aware, and if necessary, they would exercise their powers using legal mechanisms as prescribed by law. "But it did not come to that," the judge said.

It is noteworthy that Onik Gasparyan, the Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, has filed three lawsuits in the Administrative Court of Armenia, disputing the legality of the decision to dismiss him from his position. The submitted lawsuits have been assigned to Judge Mher Petrosyan, who has accepted one of the lawsuits for processing and granted the request for measures to secure the lawsuit submitted within its framework.
