Russia-US Relations Have Entered a Deadlock, Says Russian Foreign Ministry

The call for the Russian ambassador in the US to be summoned back to Moscow for consultations is an unprecedented event in modern history. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“It is difficult to recall such events in modern history. There have been similar cases, but they were prompted by a tense international agenda. However, we do not recall an instance where this is associated with bilateral relations, or rather, the deadlock in bilateral relations created by Washington,” Zakharova said during a broadcast on Russia 1 television.

Zakharova also noted that Washington has not only led relations with Russia into a deadlock but has also trapped its own ideology. “Today we see that the Russia factor, the demonization of Russia has exhausted itself and has reached its limit,” added the Russian Foreign Ministry representative.

It is worth mentioning that President Joe Biden’s interview with ABC News and the comments he made regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin sparked considerable controversy. Biden labeled Putin a murderer and threatened that he would pay for interfering in the US presidential elections. Russia has summoned its ambassador from the US to Moscow for consultations.
