Report on Attack by Hakob Arshakyan on Journalist Paylak Fahradyan Sent to Special Investigation Service
The Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia announced that the report regarding the attack on journalist Paylak Fahradyan by Minister Hakob Arshakyan, which occurred today, March 18, in a café, has been forwarded to the Prosecutor General's Office for further investigation by the Special Investigation Service.
Araik Khachatryan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor’s Office, informed NEWS.am about this.
It was reported that today, in a café in Yerevan, journalist Fahradyan witnessed how the minister was spending his working hours in the establishment. The journalist approached him and asked why he had chosen to be at a café during work hours. Arshakyan responded that he worked during night hours and that all hours were work hours for him.
After this, the minister requested the journalist to turn off his camera. Fahradyan complied, after which the minister began to threaten him. Following this conversation, the journalist went upstairs to continue his work, and Hakob Arshakyan followed him and attacked him.
Fahradyan showed the damage to his computer and his injured hand, stating, “You can see that my hand is injured. Besides that, Arshakyan hit my computer, which is now broken, and my phone on the table was also damaged. There are cameras here, and I will demand that the footage be removed from the café, and I will present it to the police. Consider this as a report of a crime.”
