Recent Attacks on Journalists by Officials Increasing, Says Ani Samsonyan

Journalist Paylak Fahradyan has announced that Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan has attacked him, causing bodily harm and property damage. The circumstances of the incident will be clarified by law enforcement agencies. This was reported by Ani Samsonyan, a member of the 'Bright Armenia' faction, on her Facebook page.

She specifically noted, “In recent times, due to domestic political tensions, attacks on journalists have become more frequent from both citizens and public officials. In the first case, this is due to low legal consciousness and the consequences of generating hate in society, while in the second case, it stems from conscious intolerance towards journalists.

Public and political figures, officials bear a greater responsibility in this matter and should be more restrained and cooperative. They must realize that they are constantly in the center of public attention and curiosity, and their right to the inviolability of personal life is also limited.
