Onik Gasparyan is in his office since 8:30 AM: General Tiran Khachatryan
While the government is making another statement about influencing the courts, asserting that the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia is legally in force, and that the court cannot reinstate General Onik Gasparyan in the position of Chief of the General Staff, Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan is in his office since 8:30 AM today, March 18, and has transitioned to a normal working rhythm in the status of Head of the General Staff, reports Yerevan.Today.
Onik Gasparyan's first deputy, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, confirmed to Yerevan.Today that the reports from the site are accurate and that Onik Gasparyan has indeed returned to work.
Auroranews attempted to clarify the information from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, but as of now, there is still no official information available.
It is recalled that the Administrative Court of Armenia has reinstated him at work as long as the legal dispute is not resolved.
After the government's campaign against the General Staff, on March 10, General Onik Gasparyan issued a statement reiterating his stance on demanding Nikol Pashinyan's resignation and announced that he would appeal the decision to remove him from the position of Chief of the General Staff in the Administrative Court of Armenia.
The leadership of the General Staff also issued a separate statement supporting Onik Gasparyan.
The court granted the request of the general's lawyer, resulting in Onik Gasparyan remaining as Chief of the General Staff until the legal dispute is resolved.
