Armenia Secures Six Olympic Spots

Armenia has secured six spots for the Tokyo Olympic Games. The last two were qualified by freestyle wrestlers Arsen Harutyunyan in the 57 kg category and Vazgen Tevanyan in the 65 kg category. As previously reported, Armenian wrestlers reached the finals of the qualifying tournament in Budapest, ensuring their participation in the 32nd Summer Games.

The finals of the tournament will take place tomorrow. Earlier, Olympic spots were earned by boxer Koryun Soghomonyan, gymnast Arthur Davtyan, and Greco-Roman wrestlers Artur Aleksanyan and Karapet Chalayan.

It is noteworthy that another four athletes from the Greco-Roman wrestling team could still qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games. In the Budapest qualifying tournament, Gevorg Gharibyan in the 60 kg category, Slavik Galstyan in the 67 kg category, Arthur Shahinyan in the 87 kg category, and Davit Ovasapyan in the heavyweight category will compete for the spots. The Greco-Roman wrestlers will enter the competition on March 20.
