VIDEO: Major Fire in Turkey, Dozens of Houses Caught on Fire
A fire that broke out in one of the wooden houses in the village of Dereichi in Ardvin province has spread throughout the village due to strong winds. Of the village's 170 houses, 50 have been engulfed in flames. According to Armenpress, this has been reported by the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.
A large number of firefighters have arrived at the scene, and a helicopter has also been called in to extinguish the fire.
The village mayor, Sabri Durman, stated that what is occurring is a true tragedy for the village. He reported that firefighting teams are attempting not only to put out the fire but also to prevent it from spreading to other houses.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ismail Chataklın, has announced that, at this time, there are no human casualties reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
