Turkish Journalist Arrested for Sharing Caricature, Faces Imprisonment
A Turkish journalist, Enver Aysever, has been arrested due to a caricature he shared on Twitter. According to reports from Armenpress and Turkish site Demokrathaber.net, the prosecutor has demanded a sentence of 9 months to 1.5 years in prison for Aysever.
The prosecutor stated that the journalist publicly mocked the religious values held by a segment of the population through the published image.
