Tension Mounts in MFA: Accusations Against Makunts for Creating Chaos

Tension is rising within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) as a rebellion brews over the appointments of ambassadors. The current sticking point is the position of the Armenian ambassador to Great Britain, which several high-ranking diplomats were vying for.

According to sources from the MFA, the most likely candidate is Varuzhan Nersisyan, who is expected to be summoned from Washington to appoint Lilith Makunts as the ambassador to the United States. Diplomats are opposed to Nersisyan's appointment, arguing that it violates the principle of ambassadorial rotation, and they accuse Makunts of causing disorder within the MFA.

However, there is one positive development: following the death of ambassador Arman Kirakosyan in Great Britain, the ban on appointing an ambassador has been lifted after approximately 2.5 years. This ban was in place because Armen Sarkissian did not allow the appointment of an ambassador in London, and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan obediently fulfilled his demand. With Ara Aivazyan's arrival, the opportunity has arisen to free the process from the whims of the 'wealthy tourist.'
