Russian Gas Supplies to Armenia to Be Temporarily Routed Through Azerbaijan

Russian gas supplies to Armenia will be temporarily routed through Azerbaijan due to the renovation of the "North Caucasus - South Caucasus" gas pipeline, Gazprom Export reports.

During the planned preventive maintenance of the "North Caucasus - South Caucasus" gas pipeline, Russian gas will be supplied to consumers through Azerbaijani territory. Gazprom Export LLC and Azerbaijan's state oil company signed a short-term agreement on March 16 for the transportation of Russian gas through Azerbaijan.

The agreement stipulates that during planned preventive maintenance on the Russian section of the "North Caucasus - South Caucasus" gas pipeline, gas will be supplied to consumers through Azerbaijan up to the Georgian border. The works are expected to last about three weeks. After their completion, gas will be transported via the previous route through the border of the Russian Federation and Georgia, stated Gazprom Export.
