MiG-21 Fighter Jet Crashes in India, Casualty Reported
A MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in India while performing a combat readiness mission. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, March 17, in the central part of the country, according to a tweet from the Indian Air Force.
“The MiG-21 Bison aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident this morning at an airbase in central India while carrying out a combat readiness mission. As a result of this tragic incident, the Air Force has lost its lead pilot A. Gupta,” the statement said.
The cause of the crash is still unknown. The incident will be investigated by a special committee of the Air Force.
