Consequences of the Azerbaijani-initiated War Amid COVID-19: Human Rights Defender Releases Statistics
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, has published an urgent report on the consequences of the Azerbaijani-initiated war amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This information was disseminated by the public relations department of the Human Rights Defender's office.
“The consequences of the war unleashed by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the context of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Armenia are as follows:
- From March 1 to September 26, 2020, a total of 49,400 cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded within a period of 7 months.
- During the war, specifically from September 27 to November 9, 2020, which is just a month and a half, this number escalated to 59,287.
- Immediately after the war, from November 10 to 30, 2020, within just half a month, the number of infection cases reached 27,280.
