Azerbaijan Will Attempt to Gain Positional Advantage in Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik: Tigran Abrahamyan

The opening of the corridor through Syunik indicates that Armenian interests are not represented in any way, said Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the "Henaket" center, at a press conference.

According to him, there is neither will nor a clear desire to demand these interests. The expert noted that Azerbaijan has created various tools of pressure and will try to achieve its objectives.

Abrahamyan stated that under certain conditions, the adversary will strive to gain a positional advantage. "At this moment, we see this in Syunik, and later we will see it in Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik. The Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik sections are high mountainous areas. Under favorable weather conditions, Azerbaijan will begin activities in that direction. Azerbaijan will try to establish the best positioning for itself under the existing conditions, which will create additional opportunities for diversions, volleys of fire, maintaining activity, and leading to escalation," he said.

According to the specialist, we face the challenge of creating new infrastructure within the existing borders and equipping the front line with technical means. "This will not only prevent Azerbaijan from gaining a more favorable position but will also politically reduce the likelihood of Azerbaijani pressure in future processes," he added.
