86-Year-Old Man Frostbitten in Shack

An 86-year-old resident of the shack district in the city of Metsamor, Rachik Harutyunyan, has spent the winter in a cold shack, lying on a mattress placed on the floor. His feet and hands have suffered frostbite, complicating his mobility. The Metsamor municipality recently learned that a person with such a status lives in their community, but despite this knowledge, nothing has changed in the life of this solitary pensioner; he continues to live in a cold shack filled with garbage, reported Hetq.

It is noteworthy that in January of this year, a 70-year-old woman in Gyumri also died from frostbite. This was the first incident in over a decade where a citizen of Armenia lost their life due to frostbite.
