Moses Hakobyan Declares Property with the Note: 'You Have Surrendered to the Enemy'

Ten days ago, a ridiculous incident occurred at the building of the Corruption Prevention Commission. Yerevan.Today has learned how the former head of the RA Armed Forces General Staff, military inspector Moses Hakobyan, has caused significant tension among the ethics commission members with his unique yet distressing entries. The general-lieutenant, residing in Artsakh, apparently accumulated all his wealth in the territories surrendered; when declaring, he was forced to be sincere.

To present his latest declaration regarding his property in Artsakh to the acting authorities, General-Lieutenant Moses Hakobyan filled in the location of each real estate, the value and area of land and houses, ending each line with notes such as 'you have surrendered to the enemy,' 'you gave it to the adversary,' 'you gifted it to Aliyev.' According to sources, this has created considerable confusion within the commission, and in order to avoid unnecessary scandal, they requested the general to revise his entries. Initially, Moses refused, stating he presented the reality as it is. However, later, with the intervention of a close acquaintance of the Hadrut-native general, his declaration was edited. How this came to be will become clear after the Corruption Prevention Commission's publication.

In an interview with the media, Moses Hakobyan did not deny the news about presenting his declaration with such unique phrasing, only adding with a smirk, 'What should I have done? Write that I sold it? Should I have faked my declaration, or written that I personally gifted it to the enemy with my own hands, my creation? This is the reality. It is what it is. However, I must say that this sincerity, unfortunately, did not reflect in the final declaration.'

In light of this shameful incident, it would be interesting to learn about the property declaration of Artsakh's richest official of all time, current President Arayik Harutyunyan, especially if Mr. Harutyunyan decided to genuinely express himself, as former Artsakh Defense Army commander Moses did. Let's recall how many times the media has reported that just last year, 3-4 months before the war, some peculiar preemptive calculations were made, under which Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan and his government member, Kamo Agajanian, who became the head of the National Security Service, sold their land and certain businesses that were reportedly located in territories given to the enemy.
