Interpol Refuses to Collaborate with Armenian Authorities; MP Reveals Scandalous Documents

Two and a half years after the revolution, it remains unclear who killed ten citizens on March 1, MP Taguhi Tovmasyan said during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly today. She published a document from Interpol, addressed to the Armenian National Bureau of Interpol.

According to the document, Interpol has refused to issue a wanted notice for former Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan. The document, released by Tovmasyan, states that Interpol considers that the Armenian Prosecutor’s Office and the Special Investigative Service have turned the case into an unfounded political matter and therefore cannot limit anyone’s movements or issue a wanted notice against anyone.

The document also mentions that the March 1 case is political and should not involve Interpol. “What we have now is essentially our two key agencies lying to us, because there is a clearly political overtone that Interpol has noticed and has suspended cooperation with our country,” Tovmasyan said.

She stated we are facing a situation that has never occurred in our 30 years of history; it is the first time an international reputable organization has acknowledged that political persecution is taking place in Armenia and refuses to cooperate with the authorities. “Did we stage a revolution for this?” Tovmasyan asked.

The MP noted that there are additional documents that will be published as appropriate.

Recall that in August 2018, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan claimed that the criminal case regarding March 1 was resolved.
