HFF Disregards Us: Lori Football Club Withdraws from Armenian Championship
Former member of the HFF executive committee and candidate for HFF president, Tigran Grigoryan, writes on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, representatives of the football community. Today is a very sad day for me. The Lori football club made a non-sporting decision not to start the match against Ararat Yerevan, for which I apologize to Lori fans, those gathered at the stadium and in front of their screens.
But this was a desperate step, as the HFF has taken a contemptuous stance towards the Lori club. One of our two requests, to the HFF Appeals Committee, is being discussed 8 months later, yet the HFF has still not benevolently published the committee's decision. In such an unhealthy atmosphere, I am not willing to continue fighting under the scenario drawn by the HFF, where clubs are divided into insiders and outsiders.
It's difficult to make such an inhumane decision. Lori is life, the region lives for football, and the team fights for the highest prize positions. In this situation, there is no other option but to fight against the injustices of the HFF, thus I have decided to cease Lori's participation in the Armenian championship."
