Defendants Robert Kocharyan and Seyran Ohanyan Absent; Court Session Postponed Again
The court session regarding the 'March 1' case has been postponed. Defendants Robert Kocharyan and Seyran Ohanyan, along with Ohanyan's lawyer Karen Mejlumyan, were not present at the session.
Presiding Judge Anna Danibekyan announced that the court received a request from Seyran Ohanyan's lawyer, stating that Ohanyan is still hospitalized and cannot attend the session, while he himself has health issues and is also unable to be present.
Kocharyan's lawyer Aram Vardevanyan also informed that his client did not attend based on advice, as he was aware in advance that Seyran Ohanyan would not be present at the session. The lawyer also mentioned that he has undergone a coronavirus test; thus, he advised Kocharyan not to appear considering this fact.
Prosecutor Poghos Poghosyan stated that given this is the fourth court session being postponed for various reasons, including health issues, he is preparing to present various motions that could lead to procedural consequences, including separating the criminal case against the defendants and examining it in a separate proceeding, since, in his view, the case is simply not being examined for various reasons.
The next court session has been scheduled for March 23 at 13:00.
