Azerbaijanis Hit Landmine Again: One Dead, Four Injured
Five citizens of Azerbaijan have stepped on a landmine near the city of Aghdam (Aknah). According to the Azerbaijani news agency "Trend", one individual has died, and four others have been injured. The identities of the deceased and the injured have yet to be disclosed. There are reports that the victims are father and sons.
Such incidents frequently occur in conflict zones. On December 14, 2020, one Azerbaijani was killed and two others were injured from a landmine explosion in Aghdam. On January 1, another Azerbaijani stepped on a landmine in the Fizuli region, resulting in the amputation of both of his legs.
On January 21, a soldier named Rashad Javadov also stepped on a landmine in Fizuli. On the same day, during road construction work, 41-year-old Aliar Ozhagverdiyev detonated a landmine, and in Kubatlu, Major Mukhtarov Sarkhan Ilgaroglu was killed by a landmine explosion.
On January 29, another Azerbaijani stepped on a landmine, resulting in the amputation of his leg. On February 3, three Azerbaijanis detonated a landmine in Fizuli (Varanda), one of whom died on the spot.
On February 7, in the same area, a vehicle detonated an anti-tank mine, resulting in one death and two individuals reported missing. On February 19, one Azerbaijani was killed by a landmine in the village of Talish. Similar incidents occurred in Jragh (Jabrayil) on February 25, in Aknah (Aghdam) on March 3, and again in Aknah on March 15.
Azerbaijani media note that citizens often attempt to enter territories under Azerbaijani control without permission from the authorities.
