Video: Severe Dust Storm Strikes Persian Gulf Countries

This weekend, severe dust storms are raging across the Persian Gulf countries, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as reported by RIA Novosti.

The storm began Friday evening, triggered by an unusual suffocating heat for this time of year in the region. Following the heat, strong winds picked up, lifting dust and sand that obscured the sky and reduced visibility to just a few meters.

Dust and sand have coated all buildings and vehicles, with sand infiltrating homes through gaps in windows. The dust storm has caused a sharp drop in air temperature, reaching 16 degrees Celsius.

These conditions have led to a decrease in both civil and military aviation activities. By Sunday, the weather in the region began to improve, although strong winds are still being felt.
