Investigative Committee Provides Details on Murder in Gyumri: 33-Year-Old Man Arrested
On March 15, 2021, at around 14:20, a 33-year-old man residing in the Mush 2 neighborhood of Gyumri got into an argument regarding personal matters with his neighbor, the neighbor's cousin, and the neighbor's wife. During the altercation, the man attacked them with a knife, intending to unlawfully deprive them of life.
The neighbor died on the spot from injuries sustained to the face, abdomen, neck, and right hand. His wife, who was injured in the neck, and the cousin, who sustained an injury to his hand, were transported to the Gyumri Medical Center, where their lives were saved through medical intervention.
This information was disclosed by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated by the Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee under the provisions of Part 2, Point 1 of Article 34-104 of the Armenian Criminal Code (attempted murder).
The crime scene was examined, several individuals were interrogated, and the clothing worn by the victims at the time of the incident was seized. As a result of operational investigative measures, the 33-year-old man was detained and arrested on suspicion of committing the aforementioned crime.
For the purpose of clarifying significant circumstances in the criminal case, forensic medical and autopsy examinations have been appointed. Instructions have been issued to the investigation body to clarify all circumstances of the case. The pre-investigation continues.
