Death Toll in Myanmar Protests Rises to 183 Amid Clashes with Security Forces
On Monday, during protests in Myanmar's cities, security forces' crackdown resulted in the deaths of 20 people and left over 60 injured, as reported by the Local Assistance Association for the Political Prisoners, according to RIA Novosti.
The association also updated the death toll from March 14, indicating that human rights defenders had previously reported 38 fatalities, but confirmed data reveals that 74 participants in the protests lost their lives on that day.
"Since the February 1 coup, the clashes with security forces have led to the deaths of 183 individuals," the statement emphasized.
It is noteworthy that Myanmar's military declared a state of emergency and staged a coup in the country on February 1, lasting for one year.
