Arman Janjughazyan Tried to Kill Two Prison Staff Members While Shouting 'Allahu Akbar, Death to Christians'

Arman Janjughazyan, a convict at the Artik Penitentiary, is reportedly of Armenian descent. In 2017, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing a serviceman of the Russian military base stationed in Gyumri, motivated by religious fanaticism, while presenting himself as a supporter of the Islamic State terrorist group during the act.

During his imprisonment, on July 21, 2020, he attempted to kill two prison staff members while shouting 'Allahu Akbar, death to Christians.' This incident raises questions about claims that hidden Turks, posing as Armenians, support various activities detrimental to our nation and speak out against Artsakh and its people in astonishing terms online. A significant number of these individuals have, in recent years, been involved in government operations under various concealed or open statuses. This statement was made by former Shirak region prosecutor Raffi Aslanyan.
