In Case of Pashinyan's Resignation, BHK Will Not Nominate a Candidate
Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, denied any behind-the-scenes meetings with Nikol Pashinyan. Tsarukyan refuted the rumors about meetings during a gathering with several media representatives.
“We know very well who spreads such rumors; I also know the reasons behind them. I don't want to go into details. If there were a meeting, we would inform all media outlets,” he said.
Tsarukyan mentioned that a solution is necessary in the current situation and that he is aware of the options and justifications for each. “The sooner a new authority, a new government is formed, the sooner these developments will be prevented,” he stated.
In response to the question of whether BHK would support Ararat Mirzoyan if he were nominated as a candidate for Prime Minister in case of Pashinyan's resignation, Tsarukyan answered negatively. He also mentioned that the Prosperous Armenia faction would not nominate a candidate.
“It's pointless, as the opposition has only 30 percent of the votes in parliament,” he noted.
