Russian President Holds Phone Conversations with Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev
Russian President Vladimir Putin had phone conversations on March 11 and 12 with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by the Kremlin's press service.
"The practical aspects of implementing agreements regarding Nagorno-Karabakh, which are outlined in the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, were discussed. It was noted with satisfaction that the ceasefire regime is being strictly maintained and that the situation in the region is mostly stable and calm. Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated the effective actions of the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed along the contact line and in the Lachin corridor,” the statement said.
According to the press service, issues related to the unblocking of economic and transport links in the South Caucasus were also discussed. In this context, the work of the trilateral working group co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of the three countries was assessed positively.
An exchange of views took place on current issues of Russian-Armenian and Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation.
