Russia Must Have Military and Security Forces to Address State Issues Outside Its Borders, Says Semyon Pegov
In my opinion, Russia must have military and security forces to perform state tasks outside its borders. This was stated by Semyon Pegov, military journalist and author of the WarGonzo project, on his Telegram page.
We need special forces, yes, intellectual ones. A team that not only acts creatively but also truly understands the regional peculiarities. Russian officials, with rare exceptions from the presidential administration, simply do not understand the realities in Armenia. For example, what distinguishes Yerevan from Stepanakert, not only from the perspective of the elite's work but also the population's attitude towards Russia.
For instance, there may be one attitude towards Russia in Yerevan and a different one in Stepanakert, as people live in different realities. When the 'Smerch' rocket launchers were unleashed across all of Artsakh, someone in Armenia continued to live a normal life and visited cafes.
By giving carte blanche to certain clans, we stop working with ordinary people, while this is what is commonly referred to as 'soft power'. And in the external politics we pursue, we must primarily rely on them, on new faces, so that they become real allies rather than mere beneficiaries.
