It’s Time to Wake Up: The Leader of the Adversary Country is Bragging and Threatening to Conquer Zangezur – EKM Statement

It’s time to wake up. This call has been made by the Union of Volunteer Fighters, urging the unification of patriotic and homeland-loving individuals.

The statement published on behalf of EKM President Sasun Mikayelyan is fully presented below:

“Dear compatriots, the staff of the Republic of Armenia's Volunteer Fighters Union understands the seriousness of the situation and the necessity to strengthen the state as well as the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. We express our loyalty to the participants of the liberation struggle and call for the unification of those who carry national ideals, are concerned about the fate of the nation, and love their homeland.

It is time to wake up, as the leader of the adversary country is already bragging and threatening to conquer Zangezur. Therefore, the following is urgent:

1. In this decisive situation for the state of Armenia, it is necessary to strengthen all state structures and bodies; the continuation of internal instability is unforgivable.
2. The authorities must present a comprehensive practical program immediately to overcome the current situation in the country.
3. We must prioritize the restoration and establishment of internal stability in the state, confronting political forces and individual fortune-seekers whose activities destabilize the situation.
4. We must fully dedicate ourselves to strengthening the fighting spirit and patriotism of our servicemen.
5. Contribute to establishing solidarity in the country and smoothing confrontational polarities.
6. Today, with our faithful unity, clear-sighted and flexible politics, we are capable and obliged to confront external and internal difficulties and challenges, just as we did between 1988 and 1994.
7. Let us never lose the hope and faith in seeing Artsakh independent, for which our heroes sacrificed their lives.
8. As Marshal Vazgen Sargsyan said, “Those peoples who do not tire halfway through the war win and create a state…”

The EKM calls for us not to tire, not to despair, and not to leave our future to the whims of fate, but to unite for the sake of our state, our sovereignty, and our people.”
