I Went to the POAC by Tank: Daniel Ioannisyan on the Incident
Yesterday, information spread on the internet that Daniel Ioannisyan, along with a group of men, attacked Rafael Afrikyan, an employee of the POAC, at the POAC office located on Orbeli Street. Ioannisyan denied this information on his personal Facebook page, stating, “As this is widely circulated, let me say once again, I did not attack anyone, I did not touch anyone with my finger, and no one touched me with a finger.”
The Police Information and Public Relations Department informed ArmDaily.am that an investigation is underway based on the media reports.
The coordinator of the "Informed Citizens' Union" NGO told us in an interview that he considers it normal to initiate a criminal case based on information published in the press. Regarding the reports of a scuffle at the POAC, Ioannisyan stated, “I went to the POAC by tank, by national brigade. In fact, I did not attack anyone, I did not subject anyone to beating, no one beat me, I didn’t even touch anyone with my finger. To be clearer, I did not touch anyone with my finger, no one touched me with a finger.”
When asked if there might have been a loud argument, he said that different people may perceive things differently and that he has different conversations with different people on various occasions. However, he reiterated that he, Daniel Ioannisyan, did not participate in any beating or violence on either side.
When asked whether he was at the POAC yesterday, he replied, “You see, I am in different places on different occasions; how is that significant now? We went to the POAC by tank, by tank.”
In an interview with the media, POAC employee Rafael Afrikyan confirmed that there was an incident between him and Daniel Ioannisyan. “I confirm that there was an incident; I will speak in more detail later,” Afrikyan said.
