HALO Trust Denies Transferring Landmine Maps to Turkey
The British organization HALO Trust, which is engaged in the clearance of unexploded ordnance, has responded to reports alleging that it transferred landmine maps to Turkish forces during or before the 2020 Artsakh war. The organization described these claims as absolute fabrications.
“For over 20 years, HALO Trust has been working in Artsakh to make life safer for the local population. HALO is able to operate in conflict zones around the world solely because it is a non-political and neutral organization,” stated the organization's press release.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, information regarding the activities of the British organization HALO Trust, which is involved in mine clearance in Artsakh, caused significant upheaval in Armenia. The 24News website, citing Boris Avagyan, the special representative of the Artsakh president, reported that during the war, this British organization had transferred landmine maps to Turkish intelligence, which facilitated the advance of Azerbaijani troops in Artsakh.
