The Homeland Salvation Movement Has Not Yet Discussed the President's Invitation
The opposition's "Homeland Salvation Movement" has not yet discussed the invitation for a meeting from President Armen Sarkissian regarding the current political situation in the country.
In a conversation with "Armenpress", a member of the initiative, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, stated, "We have not discussed it; we will discuss it and will issue a statement if we find it necessary." The discussion is likely to take place on March 11.
On March 10, President Armen Sarkissian issued a statement inviting the Prime Minister, leaders of parliamentary factions, and leaders of the Homeland Salvation Movement to a meeting at the Presidential Residence on March 13 at 12:00 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the currently created political situation in the country and to find mutually acceptable solutions to overcome the crisis.
The "Enlightened Armenia" parliamentary faction has already responded to the president's invitation. The faction leader, Edmon Marukyan, noted that they accept the invitation and are ready to participate in any discussions where it is possible to restore civil solidarity and find ways to pull the country out of the deep crisis.
