Severe Cold Weather Forecast

The meteorologists have presented the weather forecasts for the upcoming days in Armenia and Artsakh. The RA Ministry of Emergency Situations "Hydromet" service warns that from March 11-12, the republic will be under the influence of a powerful cyclone.

On March 11, snowfall is expected in the mountainous and foothill areas, and on March 12, across the entire territory of the republic, with intense snowfall in some areas. In the mountainous regions, blizzards and low horizontal visibility are forecasted. In the central mountainous and foothill regions, a snow cover increase of 40-50 cm is expected on March 11-12. Due to weather clearance and a sharp drop in temperature on the night and morning of March 13, almost all roads in the republic are expected to have icy conditions; drivers are advised to remain vigilant.

It is reported that from March 13-15, dry weather is expected throughout the republic. The wind is south-west at 5-10 m/s, with gusts of 15-20 m/s expected in some areas on March 12. During the day on March 11-12, the air temperature will drop by 8-10 degrees, followed by an additional drop of 9-10 degrees on the night of the 13th.

In Yerevan, dry weather is expected from March 13-15. On March 11-12, precipitation is anticipated occasionally, with mixed rain and snow on the 11th and snow on the 12th. The temperature in the capital will be 2-4 degrees warm on the night of March 11, and during the daytime, it will record +4 to +6 degrees.
