Russian Peacekeepers Escort 6 Military Convoys of Azerbaijan through Lachin Corridor

The Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed in Artsakh escorted 6 military convoys of the Azerbaijani armed forces through the Lachin corridor in northern and southern directions, as well as along the Shushi-Jivani route on March 10. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Russian peacekeeping troops are monitoring the situation and ensuring compliance with the ceasefire regime at 27 observation posts.

“The ceasefire regime is being maintained along the entire contact line. Since November 23, 2020, engineer-sapper units of the peacekeeping contingent have cleared 1,623 hectares of land, 508 km of roads, and 1,577 residential buildings, including 30 socially significant facilities, from unexploded ordnance. A total of 25,154 explosive hazards have been identified and neutralized.

The Russian peacekeepers are facilitating the safe return of citizens to their permanent residences and assisting in the restoration of civilian infrastructure. To coordinate information regarding possible incidents within the peacekeeping contingent's area of responsibility, constant communication is maintained with the general staffs of the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” stated the Russian Ministry of Defense.
