Currently, I am seeing how certain political circles are throwing direct or indirect accusations against the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Colonel Onik Gasparyan, suggesting that he has exhibited inconsistency by stepping down from his position. This was stated on Facebook by Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ faction.

“While Onik Gasparyan is such a strong thinker who possesses massive support from a significant part of the military general staff, he nevertheless did not allow the country to descend into internal conflict or bloodshed. And this is what distinguishes a statesman from an ordinary politician, which, of course, is beyond the comprehension of those who the general did not provide support to, transferring the demands of himself and the Armed Forces into a different dimension to exit this situation,” Marukyan wrote.
