‘My Step’ Accepts Invitation from Armenian President: Makunts
The ‘My Step’ faction of the National Assembly is ready to participate in the meeting initiated by President Armen Sarkissian to discuss the political situation in the country and find solutions. This was announced to Armenpress by the faction leader Lilit Makunts.
“Today, I have informed the president's office that we accept the president’s invitation and are ready to participate in the meeting initiated by him,” said Makunts.
President Armen Sarkissian, in a statement released on March 10, invited the Prime Minister, leaders of parliamentary factions, and leaders of the Homeland Salvation Movement to a meeting on March 13 at 12:00 PM at the presidential residence to discuss the current political situation and find mutually acceptable solutions to overcome the crisis.
The ‘Bright Armenia’ faction has already responded to the president's invitation. The faction leader Edmon Marukyan stated that they accept the invitation and are ready to participate in any discussion where it is possible to restore civil solidarity and find ways to pull the country out of the deep crisis.
The ‘Prosperous Armenia’ faction has not yet made a decision regarding the president's invitation.
A member of the Homeland Salvation Movement, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, told Armenpress that they have not yet discussed the invitation to the meeting, but will consider it and, if deemed necessary, will make a statement afterwards.
