Boston Mayor Apologizes to Armenians for Statement Supporting Azerbaijan

Boston Mayor Martin Walsh has apologized to Armenians for previously making a statement supporting Azerbaijani disinformation regarding the Khojalu events. He has also officially revoked his proclamation. This was reported by 1lurer.am.

“Unfortunately, the proclamation was adopted without the necessary procedural review. From our discussions with the leaders of the Armenian-American community, we realized that it was painful for many. Therefore, I decided to revoke it,” said Walsh.

The mayor also expressed his admiration for Armenians, emphasizing the significant contributions of our compatriots to the development of Boston. He highlighted the Armenian Heritage Park, which the community established in the heart of the city. Walsh also recalled that he participated in the events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in 2015 and underscored the importance he places on relations with the Armenian community and Armenia.
