Azerbaijan Claims It Will Force Armenia to Open a 'Corridor' in Syunik, Says MP
The MP from the LHK faction, Taron Simonian, stated on his Facebook page: "Azerbaijan has declared that it will compel Armenia to open a 'corridor' in Syunik, while at the same time repeatedly asserting that Azerbaijanis will return to their 'historical lands' – Zangezur, Yerevan, and so on. This is nothing more than a threat, a weapon of FORCEFUL EXECUTION, which is prohibited under Article 2 of the UN Charter (jus cogens principle). If we add to this the Azerbaijani military exercises planned for March 15-16 (the days marking the signing of the infamous Moscow (Kars) Treaty), which again are an act of display of force from the perspective of international law and therefore a weapon of FORCEFUL EXECUTION, then the situation becomes even clearer.
Furthermore, if we pay a little more attention to the events unfolding in the region and around our strategic partner, predictions for the near future do not bode well, considering the international crimes committed a few months ago by the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem – aggression, war crimes, terrorism, mercenaries, and so on. In similar cases, responsible state authorities turn to the UN Security Council regarding state security.
Even if there are doubts that any state may veto a possible resolution, they still go forward to raise the issue and later legitimize SELF-DEFENSE under the 51st article of the same UN Charter."
