We Prefer the State Over Our Careers, While You Take Care of Yours. Samsonyan to Arpine Hovhannisyan

Ani Samsonyan, a member of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, responded to former Deputy Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan.

She specifically stated: “Member of the Republican Party’s Executive Body, former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Arpine Hovhannisyan, declared that Edmon Marukyan shook hands with Nikol Pashinyan and thereby creates a foggy career path for himself and his faction. I am compelled to remind Arpine Hovhannisyan that when Edmon Marukyan shook hands with Serzh Sargsyan during the 2015 constitutional amendments, presenting his proposals, we heard the same content of speeches from Nikol Pashinyan and other opposition figures against that state-dismantling constitution, stating that he should not shake the hand stained with the blood of March 1 held by Serzh Sargsyan. Today, Arpine Hovhannisyan says the same thing about a different, in fact, leader of the country.

I am interested in what the difference is between you and Nikol Pashinyan's rule. It turns out that you and Nikol Pashinyan are figures sharing the same culture, and you always talk about careers, whereas we talk about the state and civic solidarity. But, it’s fine. We prefer the state over our careers, while you take care of your careers. Everything is human.”
