The Only Cause of This Situation is the Obsessive Cling of the Person Who Led Us to Humiliating Defeat to His Chair - Levon Ter-Petrosyan

Once again assessing the restraint of the army against the pressures from the opposition to drag it into political processes, I simultaneously welcome the decision of the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces to legally challenge his dismissal. This was stated by the first President of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who published this on iLur.am.

He particularly noted: “I want to emphasize that the sole and fundamental cause of the explosive situation created is the obsessive cling of the person who has completely failed in his mission to lead the country and has led our people to a humiliating defeat to his chair, which is fraught with new and much more painful dangers for us.

Nevertheless, I have been forced to repeat once again that the issue of a change of power must be resolved exclusively through constitutional means, the prerequisite of which is the immediate establishment of a compromise between the government and the opposition. I do not consider this possibility to be exhausted yet, because despite its harsh rhetoric, the opposition has not yet crossed the red lines.

In the event of deviating from the constitutional path, Armenia will never have the opportunity to become a normal and dignified state again. Therefore, the resolution of the current situation is not only a matter of the moment but also a matter of the future.
