Presidential Application Submitted to the Constitutional Court: Compliance with the Court's Requirements to be Determined in Three Days

The application from the president regarding the compliance of the "Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen" with the Constitution has been submitted to the Constitutional Court of Armenia.

"The compliance of the application with the requirements established by Articles 24 and 25 of the Constitutional Law on the Constitutional Court must be determined within a three-day period," said Eva Tovmasyan, the spokesperson for the Constitutional Court, in an interview with Aysor.am.

According to her, after that, the preliminary examination phase of the application will continue.
"This phase has a timeframe of 30 days from the moment the application is received. During this period, the future course of the application will be determined," Tovmasyan added.

It is noteworthy that President Armen Sarkissian has submitted an application to the Constitutional Court regarding the Chief of the General Staff, Onik Gasparyan. Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that, by the force of law, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, has been relieved of his duties.
