MTS Begins Providing Mobile Services in Artsakh

The Republic of Artsakh (also known as the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh) now has a second mobile operator. This was reported by the Telegram channel 'Vesnik Artsakh'. As of December, the Russian company MTS's subsidiary 'MTS Armenia' has been providing mobile services in the unrecognized territory of Artsakh. The company offers the same tariffs as in Armenia.

Sales are taking place in Stepanakert and other cities through mobile retail outlets. The operator's services are utilized by the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as other citizens of the region. MTS's new base stations provide not only 2G and 3G but also high-speed 4G access.

The availability of MTS 4G network in Artsakh will open virtual borders and improve the standard of living in the republic, allowing young people to receive better remote education and work without leaving their homeland.

It is noteworthy that for a long time, only 'Karabakh Telecom' provided telecommunications services in the territory of Artsakh.
